On a fun car

I drive an NA and I didn’t used to like the NB, but it’s grown on me a lot. I really like the way yours looks!

nothing says fun like an Oldsmobile Intrigue

I love it so much. It gets tons of compliments and after a month of ownership I still can’t think of anything I want to change about it.

“Two different takes on a fun car”
Yeah, one right and one wrong

Sounds intriguing.

I lol’d, but the “Shortstar” Northstar-derived LX5 3.5L V6 that was only ever offered in the 99-02 Intrigue and 01-02 Aurora is a gem of an engine. My dad had an ‘01 Intrigue and the engine was the best part of the car - it made plenty of torque down low but also pulled quietly and smoothly to the redline. It’s a shame it wasn’t used in more cars, because quite a fun car could’ve been built around it. Alas, it was too expensive to build to be used in the less-premium brands like Chevy and Pontiac, so it died with Oldsmobile.

The olds Intrigue, is probably one of my most hated cars. Every time I seem one my blood begins to boil. That is what the texting teen age girl who rear ended my 91 Civic was driving. It look away the one I loved.
Also the name is so miss placed, there is nothing intriguing about a mid sized Olds from the late nineties.

Is that an R32?

Yup one is a practical Daily driver and the other is a R32 .

Did you buy a GTI?

Thought they looked pretty ok for their time... but I haven’t really heard anything else good about it.

One will outlast the other.

Shhhhhh!!! Don’t put any ideas into his head! We know he has questionable impulse control when it comes to buying cars.

The wheels are great. Are they aftermarket or factory?

Factory Special Edition wheels. They’re heavy but I love the way they look.

Dat unpictured mocha brown leather interior. When I had an NB, I desperately wanted to find a set of those seats and door panels to swap into mine (the ‘99-’00 seats suck, so it would have been a nice upgrade regardless of color).

It’s not even an R32, it’s a GTI.

They look great! Do they noticeably effect the handling or ride? I love the stock wheels on my 94 but someday I’d really like to find a cool aftermarket set

Oh I see.

Eh. The difference is negligible

Ew, that GTI is ugly.
A nicely modded GTI is fun though.
